On Thursday, after an incredibly stressful process involving a divorce, selling two properties and buying one, I finally got the keys to 23 Ahern Close.
I just wanted to share my sincere thanks to the team at Brampton Valley Homes, and also to Calum at Oscar James, for helping make it happen.
In particular, I would like to recognise Calum, who has been absolutely outstanding throughout the entire journey. I know he isn’t part of the Brampton Valley Homes team, but he deserves a special mention. His communication has been excellent from day one, keeping me informed every step of the way and always taking the time to answer questions and provide reassurance when needed. He has genuinely gone above and beyond to help move things forward and make the process as smooth as possible even when faced with some pretty brutal solicitors involved. His professionalism, responsiveness and willingness to help have made a huge difference.
I would also like to thank Natalie and Jo, who have both been wonderful. They have been friendly, supportive and incredibly helpful throughout, and it has been a pleasure dealing with them.

When we visited the development at Bozeat, the wow factor of the layout and quality of the finish made the decision to buy very easy. We could not believe our tuck. It is a development of only 13 well-spaced homes on the edge of a lovely little village in Bedfordshire called Harlington. The houses looked amazing. We could not believe the house was within our budget. Jane McFarland from Bradshaws, the agent in Harlington, showed us round escorted by Jordan Doyle, the Site Manager, (who proved to be incredible). We both loved the house, went back the following day and Jane and Jordan showed us around again. This time we concentrated on the quality of the finish and the quality of the fixtures and fittings, and Jordan explained how Brampton Valley Homes aim is to achieve the very highest standards throughout the entire development and the proof was there in front of us. BVH are a very reliable and trusting developer, we paid a very small reservation fee and the house was reserved immediately. Despite our chain breaking down BVH stayed loyal to us and within 4 weeks we were proceedable. Massive thanks to BVH for sticking with us, most developers would have relisted the house immediately.
We are very happy here and so pleased we made, what has proved to be a very good decision. The transition was made easier because of the help we received from Brampton Valley Homes

Where do I begin, from start to finish it definitely has been a wonderful journey for us. We got to see how our house was being built from timbers to concrete.
Then seeing the tiles to carpet, it was lovely to see everything progressing through it’s stages.

We have finally had the time to settle into our new home and have slowly been chipping away at the seemingly never ending list of things needed when buying your first home. We cannot express in words, the love for our new home. Our home is perfect in every way, from waking up and looking over our lovely garden as the sun streams in or having a stroll into Willingham which has all of the amenities necessary for a lovely little life.
All of this wouldn’t have been possible without Brampton Valley Homes and Bidwells. From the moment we began our new home search and reached out to Bidwells until the moment our keys were handed over, both they and Brampton Valley were supportive of our journey. As with any major undertaking, there were bumps along the way, but the teams made an effort to make things right when this was the case. The team at BVH have been quick to rectify snagging issues and have even provided support to any odd queries I’ve managed to come up with.
Our home is truly perfect. It has a beautiful (and well-sized) garden which we struggled to find in other options on our home search. The attention to detail in the kitchens and bathrooms makes our little home feel luxurious, and I can’t forget my favourite touch, the wine cooler which came standard. Overall, I don’t think we could have asked for more in our first home search.
We truly appreciate the support we’ve received throughout and look forward to many years in our new home.

We are settling into our new home really well and love it.
The whole process from initial visit to moving in day has been very easy. The development is lovely and well laid out and we are looking forward to living here. The mix of houses and the layout is good.
The customer care team have been brilliant. Tiyana and Jordan handed our keys over and welcomed us to our new home. Tiyana explained a few things and we arranged a meeting to discuss snags for a week following our move in day. The online demonstration by Elite Demonstrators was very informative and I found it very useful. We have had a couple of minor plumbing issues, but they have been resolved quickly and efficiently. The snags are also being dealt with so there are no issues there. Any site staff that have come to the house have all been very polite and respectful of it being a new property and have removed their shoes. They’ve all been very friendly too.
Based on our experience we would not hesitate to recommend Brampton Valley Homes to anyone thinking of buying a property on one of their developments.

We really enjoy living on the development. During the week, the builders are considerate, and the noise levels are actually really low which I wasn’t necessarily expecting with it being an active site!
The buying process was as smooth as it could be. The usual stress with buying a house but it was finished on time and to a high standard.
We can’t really fault BVH. The site team, especially Jordan, are brilliant. Emails are responded to quickly. Snags have been rectified as quick as possible. Some are still outstanding, but we understand that these need to be scheduled when tradespeople are available.
Overall, we’re really impressed with the size, layout, and quality of the house. The materials used seem to be really high quality.

The developers and team on-site have also been extremely helpful; they are always available to assist. We have been really impressed overall with the level of service and support. The house is wonderful; the rooms are light and airy and provide us with so much space and the extra room for Grandparents to visit and stay.

I have no need to drive and didn’t realise what an impact this would have and how important it would be for us, especially when you have a one-year-old! From the moment we walked into BVH’s Sales Office, right until now (6 weeks after moving in to our new home) we have been blown away by the excellent level of service from all their staff.
Lorna who ran the Sales Office when we made our first visit and when we signed up to buy was very friendly, and answered all our questions very well, she allowed us to view the Show House on our own after initially showing us around, and also the property we decided to buy.
Given the inevitable delays due to C-19, they were very understanding when our purchase had to be delayed a couple of months, Sarah, the Sales Manager put no pressure on us, and keeping the potentially very stressful situation calm for us in the purchase element of the process.
The site employs gardeners to keep all the grassed areas outside properties cut & they all do the lawns of houses prior to people moving in, so all is pristine.
Since we moved in they could not have been more helpful; when we had any queries or inevitable teething issues, Site Managers Jordan & Callum sorted things out for us straight away.
The pack they provide of information about everything in the house is excellent & even provide samples of paints and painting tools!
So to the house itself: absolutely superb, the build & design quality of “The Cheltenham” house has to be seen to be believed: 4 good sized bedrooms, 2 en-suites & a bathroom, Villeroy & Boch bathroom furniture, Neff kitchen Appliances, Caple sinks & Kitchen Extractor, all high end producers. High quality internal doors with amazing door closing features, carpeted or tiled throughout. 3 rooms feature media plates for computer and satellite TV connections. Just superb.
Brampton Valley Homes are simply a standard above all house builders that we have checked out in the past. I have no qualms about saying to anyone who is looking to move to check where their nearest BVH site is and go see for themselves

When we first had any dealings with BVH, we had already reserved another property with a ‘big building firm’.
Well, our experience with BVH was completely different to that with the other firm!
We were accommodated and given time to look over the plots available, despite the testing conditions the pandemic brought. At no point were we put under any pressure and the help and support we got from both Sarah and Jordan throughout our decision making process was honest and given with integrity, rather than with a ‘sales’ focus. The other new build site in the village was very ‘salesy’ – if that is a word!
The development itself spoke for itself. The houses have space to breathe and you can see that the site as a whole was considered from the perspective of the people who will be living there, rather than just profitability. On Forest Heath you can visibility see they could have put another 20+ houses on there if they wanted to, but that would have compromised the feel and space that makes it the stand out development it is in our opinion. We don’t want to feel claustrophobic where we live and when you walk around FH, you do not get this feeling whatsoever. The same cannot be said for a lot of other developments we have viewed!
Needless to say, we decided not to go through with the house we had originally reserved in Bottesford and after a couple of visits to the site in WotW, we reserved our dream family home.
The process was simple, non-pressured and we were also given guarantees that were not offered to us from other builders. As we were not ‘cash buyers’ and needed to sell before we could move, other builders would let us reserve a house with a deposit, but if a cash buyer came in to buy the same plot before our home was sold, they reserved the right to sell our reserved home! This was not the case with BVH and when we reserved our home, it was actually reserved for us! The estate agent’s listing was taken down and the property was marked as reserved online. Sarah also told us they would never sell a property that someone had reserved as “they just would not do that to someone”. This immediately put us at ease.
While it took a few months for our home to sell, again we were never pressured to do anything to speed this process up. It was all very calm and understanding and we were just left to it and we just kept BVH updated on matters.
The home we purchased was already built so a lot of options had already been decided upon. We did want to make some changes and BVH were hugely accommodating and understanding around these, more so than we expected as we appreciated it was more work for them to undo a finished home and tweak it again. We were so happy with the changes made as it still gave us the ‘customising experience’ we had desired, ensuring it was ‘our dream home’ when we moved in.
Throughout the sale/buy process, Sarah was always available and helped with any queries we had for lenders/legals etc. BVH even allowed us to do an exchange/complete on the same day to enable us to move into our house pre-Christmas, which i appreciate is not the usual for them and again another demonstration of them thinking about the people who are buying their homes.
When we moved in, there was 2 feet of snow in WotW and even though access was becoming an issue in the village, they ensured a member of the team (Jordan) was still on site to ensure we got our keys etc. so we could physically move in. I know how bad the roads were getting in and out of the village that day and the fact someone stayed to allow us to move in, putting their own journey home at risk is once again testament to what a customer focussed business BVH is.
We love our home. The build and spec of BVH homes is that of quality. It just feels better than other show homes we had visited.
As with any new home purchase, we did have snags that have needed resolving. This has been done swiftly and with no issues or delays. The aftercare has been absolutely wonderful and you are encouraged to flag anything that is problematic, rather than it being an ordeal to get anything resolved. Tiyana and Andy have both been great in working with us to make sure everything is perfect in our home. We have felt as valued to BVH after they have had our money, as we did when they were wanting us to buy with them. A great experience.
I could not recommend BVH and the people who work there any more highly. It has been a wonderful experience to date and I see no reason wha that would ever change. Our experience with other builders pals in comparison to BVH and i would suggest that they could learn a lot from BVH, not only in how they lott a site and build homes, but more importantly in how they deal with people and how they understand what an emotional experience buying a new home
