Stamp Duty Holiday
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has confirmed that the Stamp Duty threshold will be increased to £500,000 with immediate effect. This new change will run until 31st March 2021.
What does this mean for people looking to move house ?
If you are looking to buy a home that costs £500,000 or less you will not have to pay any Stamp Duty Land tax. This means 9 out of 10 house purchases between now and the end of March will be exempt from stamp duty.
This is a massive boost for all those looking to move over the next few months, especially if you are looking to upsize and were struggling to raise all the capital in order to do so.
Here at Brampton Valley Homes we are on hand to answer any questions you may have about this new scheme and how it may affect you as a seller or buyer. We have a wide selection of homes under the new £500,000 threshold that you can arrange to view now.
