• When we live in a property for some time, we can become accustomed to things that we would notice when going to our friends and families homes such as clutter and clashing colour schemes. Why not invite a friend over to give you an honest appraisal of how the property feels with the items in It, to gain an insight into how a potential buyer would feel on seeing your home for the first time.
• Get rid of cluttered shelves and nick nacks and create a more streamlined look especially if space is at a premium.
• Those items that you’ve been meaning to do, such as repairs and restorations; Do them as soon as you can as first impressions count and you don’t want to put a buyer off un-intentionally.
• Tone down contrasting colour schemes with a fresh lick of neutral paint so a potential buyer can envisage living there.
• Make sure the amazing plus points of your home are shown off to their fullest. If you have an appealing downstairs space, show it off to the max with carefully chosen pieces of furniture, paintings, and ensure everywhere is clean and tidy.  Incense sticks are great to put out too as they conjure up being at home for a lot of people.
• Even the old trick of putting some fresh coffee on and putting a loaf of bread in the kitchen helps focus potential buyers imaginations to envisage what it would be like to live in your home.

These are just some of the ways you can help move that sale onto a successful conclusion but there are others. The best way to think about this process, is like a pet project in that just a little bit of extra effort could not only help to sell your home, but help you achieve the price you need in order to move on to the next chapter in your new life.
