The Air Source Heat Pump – How Brampton Valley Homes is leading the way in the New Homes sector
For our new site in Waltham on the Wolds, we wanted our customers to have the benefit of lower carbon emissions, reduced heating costs and more efficient homes now, rather than waiting for 2025 when new technology like this will be mandatory on all new homes. As I’m sure many of you know, the government announced within the last 12 months that all new build homes will be banned from using gas boilers from 2025 onwards, citing environmental reasons and to also help make energy more affordable for the end user.
We took this on board with immediate effect and decided to implement the use of Air Source Heat Pumps across all of our new build homes, to give peace of mind to our customers that whilst they’re helping the planet, they’ll be saving money on their heating costs too.
It’s a relatively simple system in that in principle, it absorbs heat from the ambient air outside and releases it inside the building as underfloor heating. We have underfloor heating throughout the ground level of all of our new homes and water filled radiators upstairs. Combined with the maximum thermal properties of our as built homes, It’s an efficient, affordable way of heating your new home and a really good way of working towards becoming carbon neutral. As a forward thinking business, we believe this is the best approach to new homes heating and hot water hence why we are committed to rolling this out across all of our new homes sites in the future.
